Black widows are poisonous. The red hourglass on the back of the black widow is to symbolize that you have a minute or so to live before you’re poisoned.
The female black widow mates and has over 300 babies. After all the babies are born the mother kills the father and gives him to the babies and they eat him.
The black Widow is known for many things – being a pleasant creature is not one of those things.
