Sales and Marketing Internship
Last summer, I interned in sales and marketing at Seaav, a sustainable activewear company, where I gained experience in client relations, media strategy, and event planning. I worked on further developing Seaav’s brand identity, analyzing competitors’ strategies, tracking social media trends, and monitoring social engagement metrics on Instagram and TikTok to inform strategy for future campaigns. I was responsible for researching venues and influencers for brand activations, creating content to market those activations, and ultimately helping to organize and run them.
Seaav’s biggest project of the season was Tall Ship, a waterfront activation that hosted a pilates class of 250 people. For Tall Ship, I researched brands to invite to sponsor the activation and concluded with a pitch of five brands. To promote Tall Ship, I worked to grow Seaav’s following on TikTok and Instagram by adapting social media trends using Seaav’s brand style. At the event, I checked in 250 guests through Eventbrite, assisted the invited brands with setting up their product stands, and collaborated with the invited influencers on the content they’d create during the event. Additionally, I checked out customers at Seaav’s product pop-up through Shopify POS, generating $3,000 in revenue.
Running Seaav’s social media platforms and managing their activations strengthened my organizational skills, adaptability, and multitasking abilities across different projects—skills that directly align with the Assistant Account Executive’s responsibilities of monitoring clients’ businesses, developing pitches, and working with targeted media on story development.
